sun.jpg picture by ANewMorningBlog Now that winter is approaching. People are turning their attention to putting away their summer clothes to make room for the window ones. Many people are consirned about how they are going to protect their skin form the winter sun. Follow these tips recommended by US Enviromental Protection Agency itself.

  • The sun’s rays are normally strongest between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m so try to limit time in the Midday sun.
  • Wear loose fitting, tight woven and full length cloths to protect your skin from the sun rays. It can block nearly 100% of both UVA and UVB.
  • Wear a wide hat that offers good sun protection to your Eyes and areas that are particularly prone to overexposure of the sun. You can always use sunglasses that are specially sun protected ones.
  • Always Use Sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 15 or higher liberally on exposed skin. Use a sunscreen that blocks both UVA and UVB rays.

Cover Up

  • Wear Long Sleeved shirt and Long Pants
  • Stay in Shade when you can
  • Seek shade under an umbrella, tree, or other shelter before not after you need relief from the sun.

Even though there are cosmetics and other forms of treatment for skin damage caused by sun, the results are seldom satisfactory. The best treatment is prevention.
