The thing which irritates individuals the most is coughing continuously. Coughing is an action taken by the body to get rid of substances that are irritating the breathing passages. Normally, the lungs and the lower the lower respiratory passages are sterile and if something such as dirt or dust get into the lungs, it can be a breeding ground for bacteria and can cause infections in the breathing tube.
The main causes of coughing can be as follows :
- Common Cold
- Severe Illness
- Smoking
- Asthma
- Bacterial infections
- Sucking material from mouth into breathing tube
- Inflammation of Larynx or pharynx
- Clogging of the bronchiole tube with white matter
- Sinus Infection
- Tuberculosis
Here we are not dealing with any of the cough caused by illness or smoking. We are talking about the common cough that occur maybe due to the inflammation of the larynx or any common cause as i mentioned above.
The main symptoms of cough include fever, chills, body aches, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, headache, sinus pressure, runny nose, night sweats, and postnasal drip. And for common cough, there are some excellent home remedies to get rid of cough. The patient should drink a cup of grape juice mixed with one teaspoon of honey as grapes is one of the most efficient home remedy for treating cough. The patient should drink alot of liquids because the dry cough is due to mucus that’s too sticky to be dislodged by a normal cough. Drinking fluids can help loosen the mucus in the chest, allowing it to be released the next time you cough. Almonds are also an effective remedy for treating cough. Just leave 7 almonds in water at night and then in the morning remove the brown skin of the almonds and grind them. and mix them with 20 grams of butter and sugar and make a paste and take that in the morning or before going to bed. A sauce prepared with raisins is also an effective remedy for cough. 100grams of sugar and raisins should be mixed with water and the mixture should be heated. When the appearance of mixtures become like a sauce, preserve it and take it before sleeping daily.
These were some of the home remedies that can be used to treat coughs but if its still persist consult your doctor. One more thing you can do is control your diet and prevent eating things that can cause cough like soft drinks, ice creams or in shot cold things. Other then that the person should eat alot of fruits and vegetable. Other things that you should avoid is tea, coffee, pickles etc..Hope it was helpful… If you have any other home remedy to treat cough, share it with us.
