How to get Rid of Bad Breath

Halitosis or Bad breath is described as a noticeably unpleasant odors exhaled in breathing. It is a common problem and the most obvious sign of bad breath is when you smell your own breath either by blowing out on your palm or by putting a handkerchief on your mouth and blowing. If the smell is odorous you have a bad breath.
There are many causes of bad breath but the most common cause is diseased gums. Dental decay at the roots of the teeth may result in abscesses in the gums with foul-smelling pus, giving an objectionable odor to the breath. So if you dont brush your teeth, food particles remain
in your mouth and start collecting bacteria and emitting hydrogen sulfur vapors. A colorless, sticky film of bacteria (plaque) forms on your teeth. If its not removed, it can cause gums diseases and tooth decay. It is irritating for the people around you and if you have a bad breath then many people will not talk to you or avoid meeting you.
Eating foods containing volatile oils is another source of bad breath such as onions, garlic, dairy products, alcohol and high-sugar foods. Another cause of bad breath can be dry mouth. Saliva helps in cleansing and moistening your mouth and a dry mouth causes dead cells to accumulate on the gums and the teeth and when they decompose, it gives an odor or bad breath. Thats the reason smokers have bad breath as it dries the mouth and causes an unpleasant mouth odor. Apart from that there are certain diseases which cause bad breath dehydration or lung diseases. Another thing which causes bad breath is your hygiene. Do you brush your teeth regularly two times a day? If not then that might be the cause of bad breath.
Now coming how you can get rid of bad breath. There are certain home remedies to get rid of bad breath which you can try and if that doesn’t work then you must see your dentist. One of the home treatments is with the help of Avocados as it effectively removes intestinal putrefaction or decomposition which is one of the most important causes of bad breath.
Fenugreek has also proved to be one of the most effective remedies for treating bad breath. Tea made of the seeds of this vegetable can help you get rid of bad breath. Parsley is also an effective cure. Two cups of boiled water should be steeped in with several sprigs of parsley, coarsely chopped, along with two or three whole cloves or a quarter teaspoon of ground cloves. This mixture should be stirred occasionally while cooling. It should then be strained and used as a mouthwash or gargle several times a day. All fruit and vegetable juiced are good for treating bad breath.
Other than that there are some simple steps that you can follow to prevent bad breath :
- Brush you teeth after every meal
- Floss at least once a day
- Brush your tongue to get rid of dead cells, bacteria and food debris. Just use a soft brush and Pay particular attention to the middle third of the tongue, where most of the bacteria tend to collect.
- Drink plenty of water as it will prevent your mouth from being dry
- Use new toothbrush. What i mean here is that you should change your toothbrush after every 3-4 months.
- Regular dental checkups.
- Increasing saliva by chewing something without sugar
These are some tips that can help you get rid of bad breath and if these doesn’t work out then you must consult your dentist and follow what he says.
